Hi! my name is Deb Brown, and I’m the face behind Aligned Blog Support. I want to be sure you know who I am and what I bring to the table to make you feel comfortable about working with me. So here’s some background both personal and professional to introduce myself.
First, what is Aligned Blog Support?
It’s a service I’ve designed to help bloggers like you who want to stay focused on what they do best – writing content and marketing – when the technology isn’t something you’re into. Without making you feel inadequate or stupid, the objective is to empower you with the information you need to understand what’s going on with your blog without you having to actually get your hands dirty with the tech. Communicating in non-tech speak is something I’m very good at which will keep you feeling on top of your blogs inner workings and knowing you’re in good hands.
My professional backgound:
I’ve been “on the net” for 12 years. That means that I know my way around and have a long history for understanding what works and what doesn’t. (if you’re up for some “tech speak” you can visit my User Experience Blog at alignedstructures.com)
For 10 years of my internet experience I have been doing user experience design. User Experience Design is about creating an easy experience for users, whether it’s software, a web site or a blog. That sensibility remains with me at all times so I’m always evaluating whether a plugin or blog structure makes sense and is usable for visitors.
I’ve worked for a range of clients from fortune 500 companies including Staples and IBM, to smaller web organizations such as Trip Advisor. I built the first web presence for Wainwright Bank and Trust – a regional bank in Massachussetts and helped many small businesses and start-ups with web site design, creation and user experience. Through it all I maintain my ability to communicate with clients with all levels of technical expertise explaining things in a way that helps them truly understand what is being done both technically and strategically.
My recent dive into the Blogosphere is driven by how much I love blogs and blogging. It’s an amazing technology and space to be involved on the internet and I have enjoyed meeting a lot of great folks as I weave my way on this journey. I hope that you are my next great connection!
Here’s the fun stuff about me:
I love, LOVE, love to cook. Sundays in fall and winter at my house are filled with great smells and football games.
I’m an artist. I studied at the Museum School in Boston – most incredible learning experience of my life. My main medium is drawing. I’m a left brainer too – did economics as my major undergrad at Bowdoin College.
Fascinated by theoretical physics. Favorite hobby. I am pro string theory. Richard Feynman is my hero and lives on my desktop.
I have a 55 gallon fish tank with a 10 year old, 12 inch long Pleco.!
I LOVE to laugh and enjoy a slightly warped, dry sense of humor.
I’m a huge Red Sox fan. Fav outing is going to Fenway Park in May. Fav seats? First baseline, right behind the dugout.
I’m a jazzhead.
I LOVE to watch TV. This is a big confession for an artist. Please note.
